A ROMANIAN woman who appeared at Longford District Court charged in connection with prostitution at a house in Edgeworthstown, Co Longford, has been ordered to leave the country with her husband.

Raisi Anilevschi (22), Mostrim Oaks, Co Longford, appeared before the court yesterday charged with controlling or directing prostitution at a house in Mostrim Oaks, Edgeworthstown on May 5th last.

Her husband Adrian Anilevschi (24) and the couple’s friend Razvan Biclea (23), Ashbrook Gardens, Mountrath Road, Portlaoise, Co Laois, also appeared in court. Each faced a charge of having a fraudulent insurance disc and knowing it to be false.

Judge John Neilan said all three defendants came to Edgeworthstown to “specifically engage in degrading prostitution” and “that it was these two men who brought this lady here to engage in this activity”.

The judge remanded them in custody and ordered that they be accompanied by gardaí to the departure lounge of Dublin airport tomorrow when they would board an aircraft for Romania.

Gardaí told the court that prostitution services had been provided at the house since last April, following a web-based advertising campaign offering “massages” and “sexual massages” organised by Raisi Anilevschi.

They said they had placed the house under surveillance since April and that up to last Friday, 25 to 30 male callers had availed of services there.

There were three girls working at the house, and Biclea and his girlfriend were also staying there, the court heard.

Solicitor for all three, Bríd Mimnagh, said Anilevschi had bought a one-way ticket to Romania for herself and her husband.

She said the third defendant was also in a position to buy a ticket for the same date back to Romania, as he had €500 on him when he was arrested.
