Warnings have been issued to Junior Certificate students to enjoy their achievement and celebrate sensibly and soberly when they get their results tomorrow.
More than 56,000 students will get their results which will be available from their school or from the online examinations service from 4pm.
The State Examinations Commission, the overall number of students sitting the exams dropped by 0.5 per cent but the proportion of candidates who are re-entrants to education has remained steady at 2.4 per cent.
There 55,271 candidates for the exams from schools and a further 1,369 adults on Back to Education and Vocational Training Opportunity schemes.
The were slightly more males, at 28,756 sitting the exam than females.
The Drinks Industry Group of Ireland (Digi) warned pubs, off-licences and nightclubs to be especially vigilant with regard to underage drinkers tomorrow.
