The jury in the trial of a Co Monaghan teenager charged with raping an unconscious girl in Bundoran has been discharged by Mr Justice Morris at the Central Criminal Court.

The judge discharged the jury following submissions by defence counsel Mr Patrick Gageby SC at the conclusion of the prosecution case.

It was the third day of the trial of the 19-year-old Monaghan youth who has denied four charges of rape and sexual assault of the Co Sligo woman on August 3rd, 1997. The offences were alleged to have happened at the rear of a disco car park in Bundoran.
