The jury in the trial of a British army major accused of cheating in the "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" TV quiz has begun to consider its verdict.
Major Charles Ingram and his wife Diana are accused of hatching a plot with college lecturer Mr Tecwen Whittock to defraud their way the one million pound top prize using a series of coughs to indicate the correct answers.
The case came to court after production staff on the September 2001 show became suspicious of loud coughing and called in police. The cheque to Maj Ingram was stopped and the show was never broadcast.
"Millionaire" has become one of the most successful television formats across the world, broadcast in more than 100 countries. Since it started in Britain in 1998, just over 50 people around the globe have managed to win the top prize.
