A jury has been sworn in at the Central Criminal Court for the trial of a man accused of murdering another man in Limerick two years ago.

Kevin Coughlan (29), Avondale Drive, Greystones, Limerick, has pleaded not guilty of murdering Francis Greene at Steamboat Quay on a date unknown between November 28th and November 29th, 2009.

He has pleaded not guilty to the false imprisonment of Mr Greene between Lower Hartstonge Street and Steamboat Quay on November 28th. He also pleaded not guilty to assaulting Roy Finn and not guilty of the production of a knife during the alleged assault at Lower Hartstonge Street on that date. The trial begins today and is expected to last two weeks.
