West Ham striker Frederic Kanoute is set join Tottenham Hotspur following the Hammers relegation to Division One, his agent said today.
Kanoute's agent, Willie McKay, confirmed that the London clubs had held talks and Kanoute, who has recently recovered from a spate of injury problems that scuppered his season, could make the switch in two weeks.
It is believed that the Frenchman could move to White Hart Lane for around £4 million sterling.
"There has been interest from other Premiership clubs, butFreddie believes Tottenham are best suited to him and he thinks he could strike up a good partnership with Robbie Keane," McKay said.
For their part, the Hammers are aiming for a quick return to the Premiership and want to keep Joe Cole, Michael Carrick and Jermain Defoe, who have all been the subject of interest from other top-flight clubs.
