New York - A federal jury yesterday decided that former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic should pay over $4.5 billion to survivors and families of those killed during the genocide of the non-Serb population in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The case was brought on behalf of 22 survivors and the families of 16 men and one seven-month-old baby who were killed during Karadzic's rule. Karadzic has also been indicted for genocide by the international war crimes tribunal in The Hague.
