A stunning Graham Kavanagh free-kick helped Cardiff City to a famous FA Cup victory over Premiership Leeds United at St Ninian’s Park today.

Defender Scott Young struck Cardiff's winner from close range just three minutes from time after Leeds failed to clear a corner at the far post.

Leeds had gone 1-0 up after 12 minutes through Mark Viduka but Cardiff, lying 10th in the second division, refused to be overawed by their illustrious visitors.

And they where back on terms just eight minutes later when a sublime free-kick from Republic of Ireland midfielder Kavanagh lifted the roof.

Leeds striker Alan Smith was sent off just before halftime for an apparent elbow on Cardiff’s Legg but the 10 men looked to have held on for a draw before Young's late intervention.

Earlier on Sunday, premier league Derby County lost 3-1 at home to third division Bristol Rovers in another big upset.
