Scottish Premier League Review:Robbie Keane scored twice as Celtic cut Old Firm rivals Rangers' lead at the top of the Scottish Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Falkirk.

Robert Olejnik had foiled the on-loan Dubliner twice before he drilled the ball past the Bairns goalkeeper in the 34th minute after being set up by Morten Rasmussen.

The home side passed up several further decent chances before Keane grabbed his second in the 79th minute to seal the victory which leaves the Bhoys 10 points adrift of Rangers, who also have a game in hand.

In yesterday's action Lee McCulloch grabbed a double as Rangers recorded a 3-1 win over St Mirren.

Saints took a shock lead at Ibrox through the on-loan Graham Carey before McCulloch netted either side of the break and Nacho Novo put the gloss on the win late on.

Both teams meet for the sixth time this season later in the month when they will contest the first silverware of the campaign - the League Cup.

A Derek Riordan free-kick ended Hibernian's five-match winless run as they edged to a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock.

Hibs' recent barren spell had coincided with a dry run in front of goal for Riordan, but his trademark 76th-minute set-piece saw his side climb back up to third.

Substitute Abdessalam Benjelloun earlier missed a penalty as the hosts just about earned their victory in what was a war of attrition on a bog of an Easter Road pitch.

Zander Diamond prevented Aberdeen's losing streak hitting four games with a 76th-minute equaliser against Hamilton.

Diamond slotted home after a quickly-taken free-kick to cancel out Flavio Paixao's second-half header.

Hamilton were left with a strong sense of injustice after being denied a penalty moments earlier when Jim Paterson seemed to bring down Dougie Imrie.

John Sutton scored a late winner for Motherwell against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park.

Scotland Under-21 striker Jamie Murphy continued his recent fine form when he put the visitors ahead in the 12th minute but St Johnstone responded well to the setback and recalled striker Steven Milne equalised from close range in the 26th minute.

However home keeper Graeme Smith spilled substitute Lukas Jutkiewicz's shot and Sutton made no mistake from three yards out with five minutes remaining to grab all three points.
