In an article "Back to those deposits and whether bank did enough" in the editions of November 7th, 2000, reference was made to the supervision of Guinness & Mahon Bank by the Central Bank in 1988.
At that time, Mr Kenneth O'Reilly Hyland, to whom reference was also made, was not a director of the Central Bank, having left that position when his warrant expired five years previously. He therefore had no involvement directly or indirectly in the supervision of Guinness & Mahon referred to in that article.
