Kenya's feuding political parties adjourned talks for the weekend today despite chief mediator Kofi Annan hopes for a political settlement this week.
Mr Annan has led efforts to end turmoil triggered by President Mwai Kibaki's disputed December 27th re-election that has killed at least 1,000 people and uprooted 300,000 more.
A spokesman for Mr Annan indicated some progress had been made and said the former UN boss would announce details tomorrow of an agreement signed by both sides.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga accuses Mr Kibaki's team of rigging the vote, while Mr Kibaki says he won fairly.
Both sides have agreed in principle to some form of power-sharing and have been discussing details in private.
A source from one party said the talks, being held in a remote safari park, ended in acrimony, however, and that negotiators were flying back to Nairobi to consult their bosses.
