At least 26 people were killed and 25 others seriously injured in Kenya when a bus collided with a truck 250km north of the capital today, police said.
"It was a head on collision between a bus travelling towards Nairobi and a trailer truck going to Mombasa and happened shortly after midnight," said a police spokesman.
Police said the death toll was likely to increase.
Crashes are common in the east African country due to the dilapidated roads where corrupt policemen are often bribed to overlook unroadworthy vehicles, overloading or reckless driving.
