Republic of Ireland manager Brian Kerr today held the first training session ahead of the crucial Euro 2004 qualifier against Georgia on Saturday.
Kerr confirmed Stephen Reid and Steve Finnan underwent scans and that he will not know the extent of their injuries until later today. Kerr suggested Reid may be feeling the effects of surgery earlier in the season as the Millwall man struggles with a swollen ankle and Achilles.
Elsewhere, Manchester United's John O'Shea took part in full training and Kerr said he was happy with his progress.
Following the news of Robbie Keane's bereavement - his father passed away last night - Kerr did not want to be drawn on the striker's involvement at this stage.
"Our thoughts are with Robbie at this difficult time and we send our thoughts to him and his family," said Kerr on behalf of the FAI.
