GAA:Cork's Paul Kerrigan has received a two-game ban following his red card against Armagh. The Rebels may yet appeal the sanction, but as it stands the forward is set to miss the league matches against Down and Donegal, before returning in time to face Laois on March 10th.

Kerrigan was sent off by referee Syl Doyle for attempting to strike Armagh wing-back Finian Moriarty during Sunday's league draw at the Athletic Grounds.

Meanwhile, it has emerged John Mullane has opted to take a break from the Waterford hurling panel, though it has been suggested he will return in the summer for the championship.

Mullane has indicated his decision was influenced by family commitments.
