It will come as no surprise to find All-Ireland champions Kerry top this year's Vodafone GAA All-Star football list with 10 nominations from a possible 45 players representing 12 counties in all.
Kerry's nominations include the three O'Se brothers Marc, Tomas and Darragh, while two others sets of brothers, Damien and Tommy Freeman of Monaghan plus Alan and Bernard Brogan of Dublin, are also nominated.
Monaghan's progress to the Ulster final, and their impressive All-Ireland quarter-final display against Kerry, earns them a total of four nominations; their highest representation since the mid 1980s.
Louth will also be pleased with the nomination of their midfielder Paddy Keenan.
Nine of last year's All-Stars - Stephen Cluxton (Dublin), Marc O'Se (Kerry), Karl Lacey (Donegal), Aidan O'Mahony (Kerry), Darragh O'Se (Kerry), Nicholas Murphy (Cork), Paul Galvin (Kerry), Alan Brogan (Dublin) and Kieran Donaghy (Kerry) - are back in contention for awards this year.
The county breakdown is: Kerry (10), Dublin (7), Cork (6), Meath (6), Monaghan (4), Tyrone (3), Derry (3), Sligo (2), Galway (1), Donegal (1), Louth (1), Kildare (1).
The final selection will be announced at the annual All-Stars
banquet at the CityWest Hotel in Dublin on Friday, October 19th.
The All-Stars Hurling Nominees will be announced tomorrow.
