The search for a Swedish mountain climber, missing for six days in Co Kerry, resumed this morning.
Bad weather has hampered efforts to find Mr Olos Jansen (22) who went missing after setting out from Kilgarvan to hike to the MacGillcuddy Reeks early on Tuesday morning.
Members of Kerry Mountain Rescue Team, Gardaí and the Irish Coastguard Helicopter are searching the mountains for any sign of the experienced hill walker.
Mr Jansen was well-equipped with a tent and warm clothing but fears are growing for his safety.
He was expected back to his lodgings late on Thursday evening last and had arranged to send text messages to his family who were staying nearby but nothing has been heard since he failed to come back.
Gardaí involved in the search for Mr Jansen are asking for a lone male hillwalker who was seen in the Black Valley area (Gap Of Dungloe) last Wednesday between 3.30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to contact them.
The man was wearing a dark blue walking jacket and carrying a dark green army style rucksack.
He is asked to contact Gardai at Killarney - tel: 064 - 71160./064 31222.
