Round-up:Kerry ran out comfortable 1-18 to 0-11 winners in their Christy Ring Cup encounter with Mayo at Austin Stack Park in Tralee yesterday with Shane Brick producing the goods for the Kingdom.
It was a close contest in the early stages before Kerry took a 0-7 to 0-4 lead into the break as Brick took advantage from placed balls. Kerry then upped the pace in the second half to take a 0-13 to 0-8 lead before John Mike Dooley effectively ended the contest with a 56th minute goal.
Elsewhere Wicklow also enjoyed an easy 1-22 to 1-10 win over visitors London in Arklow. The home side were 1-11 to 0-4 ahead at the break - Johnny Moran netting the goal - and from there never looked back.
Wicklow were reduced to 14 men in the final quarter when Wayne O'Gorman was red-carded.
In Navan two late points from Eoin Brislane ensured Meath a 2-16 to 1-19 draw with visiting neighbours Westmeath in their Group A opener at Pairc Tailteann.
Carlow tipped the balance to put in an improved performance to deny Kildare 3-13 to 0-15 at Dr. Cullen Park. Alan Murphy and Des Murphy were both on target as Carlow came from three points down at the interval to earn the win.
In the Munster SHC semi-final replay Limerick came from ten points down to draw 1-24 to 2-21 with Tipperary after extra time in an absorbing fixture at Semple Stadium.
Limerick looked finished as they trailed 0-5 to 1-12 at the interval in Thurles with Seamus Butler securing a great solo effort goal.
Mike Fitzgerald grabbed Limerick's second half goal as the visitors dominated the latter period before going into extra time at 1-19 to 1-19.
Darragh Egan's goal in extra time looked to have sealed it for Tipperary but Andrew O'Shaughnessy held his nerve to fire over a late '65 to send the game to a second replay.
