Royal Oak - The assisted suicide crusader, Dr Jack Kevorkian (69), was freed on bail yesterday morning after a late-night tussle with police as he attempted to deliver a body at a local hospital.
Dr Kevorkian sat slumped in a wheelchair and made no statements during his arraignment at 44th District Court on charges of resisting arrest and assault. District Court Judge Terrence Brennan entered a plea of not guilty after Dr Kevorkian refused to say anything and a pretrial conference was set for June 2nd. Dr Georges Reding, who was with him at the time of the incident and was also arrested, entered a plea of not guilty. Both were released on $500 personal bonds.
