Amir Khan believes predictions of a four-round knockout to Breidis Prescott simply highlight the one-dimensional gameplan of his Colombian challenger.

The South American arrived in Manchester for tomorrow's clash at the MEN Arena predicting he would take Khan's WBO Intercontinental title away from him before 12 minutes had elapsed.

However, Khan (21) believes the bravado from Prescott, whose record shows 17 knockouts in 19 wins, points to his weakness rather than his strengths.

The British fighter said: "He is a known fighter in America and has topped the bill over there but I am going to do what I normally do, I'm not going to give the guy a chance.

"He can say what he wants, that he is going to knock me out in four rounds.

"I think he has made a big mistake saying that because it shows that he is a four or five-round fighter.

"What's going to happen when he goes past four rounds? He's not thought after that. He's not thought ahead and so he will be in trouble after four rounds."

Promoter Frank Warren finds himself in the position once again of building his protege up while dampening down expectations from those who believe Khan should be fast-tracked to the point where he is taking on the best fighters on the planet.

Warren admits he often stands alone when under pressure to push Khan forward.

"I'm always the guy who has to do that but what can I do?

"His career is in my hands. It's a responsibility for me and I don't want to screw up.

"I've got to make sure that when he gets to the stage of fighting for a world title he can win and go on and defend it.

"He's not quite there yet and I believe I was right all along," Warren said.

Prescott remains confident and, speaking through an interpreter, he said he expects to be a household name by late Saturday night.

He said: "A lot of people are talking about Amir Khan and no one really knows my name.

"But after the fight people are definitely going to remember me in Britain.

"It gives me confidence that Khan has been knocked down twice before, it really does.

"I believe he is a boxer that cannot take many punches and has a soft chin but whether or not the fight is short or goes the distance, I am still going to be victorious."
