Sligo have been awarded both points from their recent NFL Division 1B defeat to Kildare following a meeting of the GAA's Games Administration Committee last night.
Kildare won the game at Markievicz Park by a point (1-11 to 1-10) but were found to be in breach of GAA rule 109 regarding the naming of substitutes.
On the day, Kildare presented only 15 names on the official team sheet, and so by introducing four substitutes they were in clear breach of the rule, the penalty for which is forfeiture of the game.
Meanwhile, Pat Joe Whelehan will guide Birr through their St. Patrick's Day All-Ireland club hurling final with Dunloy from the stands after picking up a two-match touchline ban.
Whelehan was found guilty of unauthorised pitch incursions during the club's semi-final win over Athenry last month.
Athenry forward duo Eugene Cloonan and David Donohue were suspended for eight and twelve weeks respectively following their dismissals in that game.
