GAA Review:Today's O'Byrne Cup encounter between Kildare and Laois was a hot-tempered affair with no less than seven players being sent off in Portlaoise.
A fight broke out after 30 minutes and as a result five players were give their marching orders - Kildare were reduced to 12, Laois 11.
Almost as an aside Kildare won the contest 0-11 to 0-08.
At Parnell Park Dublin and Meath shared the spoils as the game ended in a tie 2-15 to 1-18 after extra time.
In Ulster Down were got the better of Derry 1-15 to 1-13 in their Dr McKenna Cup fixture at Celtic Park.
Fermanagh were also narrow winners (1-08 to 1-06) against Armagh at the Athletics Ground.
Kerry reached the McGrath Cup final, where they will play UCC, after their win over Tipperary 0-13 to 1-09.
In hurling Limerick lost to UCC in the Munster quarter-final 0-19 to 2-09.
