National Hurling League round-up:Matthew Ruth scored the decisive three-pointer in an 11-goal thriller at Nowlan Park as Kilkennybeat Dublinby a single point, 5-16 to 6-12, to stay top of Division One A.
It was a cruel blow for Dublin, who sniffed a first victory of the campaign when they led by eight points with just 15 minutes to go, albeit down to 14 men after the sending off of Ryan O’Dwyer.
But as ever, the Cats refused to roll over and goals from Richie Power and Ruth saw them hold on to their unbeaten record.
Galwaycame back from an eight-point deficit in the first half to beat Cork2-17 to 2-13 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh and go above them into second in the Division One A table.
The Tribesmen were guilty of some poor shooting in the early stages and when Paudie O’Sullivan found the net on the half hour Cork had extended their lead to 1-7 to 0-4.
They home side were still five points ahead at the break (1-9 to 0-7) but a Damien Hayes goal in the second half helped Galway take the lead for the first time in the match.
Lorcan McLaughlin responded with a second three-pointer, but Niall Burke’s late goal secured the two points for Galway
Tipperaryjumped above Dublin as they proved too strong for Waterfordat Semple Stadium, winning 0-31 to to 2-15.
Clarecontinued their unbeaten run at the top of Division One B as they had nine points to spare on Laois, winning 2-22 to 2-13 in O'Moore Park.
Seán Collins score Clare’s goal in the first half to help them build-up a 1-11 to 1-6 lead at the interval. Neil Foyle found the net for Laois.
John Conlon grabbed Clare’s second goal early in the second half to settle the affair, with Laois grabbing a late goal through Willie Hyland.
Offalyhad five points to spare on Antrim,winning 1-22 to 1-17 in Tullamore, while Limerickpicked up their second win of the campaign by beating Wexford2-20 to 0-18 at Wexford Park.
