Kilkenny 2-26 Tipperary 4-17 (aet):Kilkenny defeated Tipperary by three points in extra-time at Semple Stadium this afternoon to win the Allianz NHL Division One title.
Richie Hogan was on form for the Cats with a personal tally of 1-10 but Tipperary led for large periods of the match before running out of steam in extra-time.
"It was great to win it, it’s always great to win finals whether they are Leinster, League or All-Ireland,” said man-of-the-match Hogan.
"We beat Tipperary convincingly a few weeks ago, but we knew it was half a fluke. Tipperary are a fantastic team and it took a huge effort to beat them here today."
Both sides were tied 2-17 to 3-14 after 70 minutes.
James Woodlock, John O'Brien, Seamus Callanan and Noel McGrath scored the Tipp goals, while Hogan and Aidan Fogarty found the net for Kilkenny.
Elsewhere Offaly reversed the final league positions in the Allianz NHL Division Two table as they overcame Wexford 0-13 to 1-13 in today’s final at Semple Stadium.
Joe Dooley's Offaly side achieve their goals of picking up the Division Two title and gaining promotion back into the top flight of the National League.
