Gardaí in Killarney, Co Kerry, are appealing for witnesses after a man was found semi-conscious with head injuries near the town early yesterday morning.
The man, in his twenties and living in the Killarney area, was found at about 3.30 a.m. by taxi driver on a roadway near the town's McDonald's restaurant.
His injuries seemed to be consistent with a fall, and gardaí want to establish what led to that fall. Gardaí are appealing to anyone in the Park Road area at that time to come forward.
The man was taken to Tralee General Hospital and was yesterday in the intensive care unit. His condition was serious, although is not thought to be life-threatening.
