London - A senior British judge yesterday blocked a killer's attempt to gain custody of his daughter when he is released from prison, saying the man showed he was unfit when he beat her mother to death over three days. The 36-year-old man, jailed for four years last August after pleading guilty to manslaughter, could be released next year.
In her refusal, Dame Elizabeth Butler-Sloss, president of the High Court Family Division, cited the man's drinking, violence and refusal to accept the effects of his actions on his three-year-old daughter, who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.
