GARDAI are appealing to anyone with suspicions about who the civil servant, Ms Marilyn Rynn, three days before Christmas, to come forward.

There was no indication of any breakthrough in the murder investigation yesterday, however.

The search of the parkland in Tolka yalley, near Ms Rynn's home in Blanchardstown, is continuing and yesterday uncovered her watch and ear ring.

Gardai believe Ms Rynn died following a violent struggle after she was dragged from a path through Tolka Park from Blanchardstown village to her home in Brookhaven Drive.

Her naked body was found in brambles beside the Tolka River last Sunday, 16 days after she was murdered.

An investigation team of 70 officers, including detectives drafted in from other divisions, led by Chief Supt Jim McHugh, are involved full time in the investigation.

Chief Supt McHugh yesterday said it was probable that the murderer was scratched and would have had his clothes muddied during the attack.

He said: "There is no doubt that there are people who are suspicious, if not fully aware of the identity of the killer. I think it is in everybody's interest that the identity of the culprit be made known to the gardai and that he is arrested with all possible haste."

Gardai close to the investigation confirmed that the movements of a number of men with records of assault and sex offences in the north west Dublin area were being examined.

However, there was no evidence to link any of the offenders with the murder.

Ms Rynn left an office party at the Shieling Hotel, Raheny, and caught a taxi into Dublin at around 2 a.m. on Friday, December 22nd.

Gardai still want to talk to the taxi driver who left her at Eddie Rocket's diner in O'Connell Street where, they say, she waited until she caught a Nitelink bus to Blanchardstown between 3 a.m. and 3.30 a.m.
