Jasper - While in prison, white supremacist John William King vowed to kidnap a black man, take him into the woods and kill him as part of a gang initiation, a former inmate has testified in King's capital murder trial.
The initiation, or "blood tie," planned by King came to pass on June 7th when James Byrd, a black man, was driven into a forest near Jasper, chained to a pickup truck and dragged to his death on a paved road, Texas prosecutors contend.
