Buenos Aires - An Argentine environmental group yesterday attacked bird hunting by King Carl Gustaf XVI of Sweden as "an unacceptable form of neo-colonialism". The European monarch, king of Sweden since 1973, has been in the central province of Cordoba since Saturday with eight members of his personal guard and, as he did last year, staying far away from the press.
The king, protected by a group of Cordoban police who prevent anyone from getting close to him, and his retinue go on daily hunts for eared doves, which have angered the Defence of the Environment Foundation (FUNAM).
