Bonn - The former German chancellor, Dr Helmut Kohl, may face new corruption charges. State prosecutors announced yesterday that he was being investigated on suspicion of using more than $109,340 of party funds as personal spending money.
Prosecutors in Bonn said they had decided to begin a new inquiry into Dr Kohl's financial dealings after obtaining evidence which suggested that he had used part of a $426,000 internal party cash transfer to spend on "what he thought fit".
