A man believed to be the son of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il was detained at Tokyo's Narita airport yesterday after trying to enter Japan illegally, Kyodo news agency said today.
"There is a high possibility that a man who tried to enter Narita airport illegally may be the son of Kim Jong-il," Kyodo said.
Police took the man into custody at the airport and were investigating, it said. It was not clear if the man was still in Japan.
The man has denied that he is Kim Jong-il's son, Fuji television said.
