Equestrian:Jessica Kuerten will miss this weekend's FEI World Cup final in Geneva after the Irish rider fell from a horse at her yard in Germany last week.

Kuerten was taken to hospital last Friday and was later released but was not considered fit enough to compete at the Switzerland event.

“I am very sore at present and while I expect to be back competing shortly, the final is just too soon,” said Kuerten on RTÉ Radio today.

“While I'm obviously disappointed I feel a little lucky because if it wasn't for my riding helmet things would have been a lot worse.”
