Labour leader criticises FF on public services

Labour Leader, Ruairi Quinn, has described Fianna Fáil as the party of zero credibility on public services.

Labour Leader, Ruairi Quinn, has described Fianna Fáil as the party of zero credibility on public services.

Mr Quinn said the party’s spending over the last two years was an "unthought out attempt to throw money at a problem in advance of the election".

The Labour Leader said his party would commit €12bn more to the development of public services over the lifetime of the next government.

He described Fianna Fáil plans to reduce spending growth to 6% for the coming three years as unsustainable.

He said Fianna Fáil’s proposal comes after a year in which the government increased public spending by 20%. Mr Quinn said the plans were "not believable or credible."
