Mayo will rue several clear cut chances to score goals in their quarter final meeting with Laois at Croke Park which ended in a draw 0-15 to 0-15.
Laois looked like they would progress when they opened up a two point cushion five minutes before they end.
Chris Conway made up for missing a sitter minutes earlier when he restored a one point lead for Laois with a right footed free. Laois one the resulting kick out and full forward Noel Garvan slotted over for his third point.
Aidan Kilcoyne kept the Connacht Champions in touch with a great score from a tight angle.
As the game moved into two additional minutes Mayo's Conor Mortimer fought hard to win a free in front of the Laois goal. He calmly converted it himself to ensure his team could fight another day.
As it was Mayo were lucky to be in touch at all following a torrid spell in the first half which saw Laois score six points without reply.
However Mayo didn't let their heads drop and managed to claw their way back to go in at half time trailing
The teams will meet again next weekend to decide who will face Dublin in the semi-final with details to be announced during the week
