JEWELLERY once owned by Mrs Jackie Onassis is being sold by a couple from Larne, Co Antrim. They are looking for buyers for a number of lots, including a set of ear rings and two pearl necklaces.
The couple, who have not been identified, bought the items at last week's auction in New York, at which Dr A.J.F. O'Reilly paid £1.7 million for a 40 carat diamond ring for his wife Chryss.
The Larne woman has taken out a newspaper advertisement offering the jewellery for sale. It is understood the price for one of the necklaces is £45,000. Her son said. "My mother has a fascination with Jackie Onassis and she just decided to buy something. Two or three people are interested and negotiations are under way.
