Probably for the first time, and almost definitely for the last (as it Rathfarmham, Rathfarnham), the British ambassador's residence at Sandyford is to host a fashion show. It's on Thursday, September 28th, in aid of Angels Quest (respite care for mentally handicapped children) and the Omagh Fund. The hosts are Sir Ivor and Lady Roberts, the clothes are from Brown Thomas, a supper will be served and the 200 guests will be seated throughout the residence, a last chance for many to see Glencairn before it changes hands. It is now owned by a developer who intends to build houses on the grounds.
Tickets are £150 a head but don't expect to be able to buy one. They are not publicly available - and anyway half have gone to Independent Newspapers (Gavin O'Reilly is on the board of Angels Quest) and the rest to corporate bodies.
