The last of three searches under Operation Trace, the Garda investigation into the disappearance of six women in the Leinster area, was called off yesterday.

The search of Tickincor Wood, near Clonmel, Co Tipperary, ended yesterday afternoon after nothing was found during the three-day operation by members of the Garda's Tipperary search unit.

Supt Dick Burke, of Clonmel, said he was satisfied all that could be done had been done.

The search followed a report of suspicious activity in the area made to the Operation Trace unit in Naas, Co Kildare.
