Limerick hurling is in shock tonight with news that Peter Lawlor has opted out of the senior panel.
Lawlor was the county’s only All Star nominee last season but has not figured in Limerick’s pre-season programme.
County board secretary James Hartigan said he was stunned by the news. The decision was Lawlor’s alone, Hartigan added.
The Croom player would have been a valuable member of Joe McKenna’s squad for the upcoming league campaign.
