The governor of Mountjoy jail, Mr John Lonergan, this morning handed to the Flood Tribunal three mobile telephones belonging to Liam Lawlor.
After being sworn in, Mr Lonergan confirmed he has custody of Mountjoy inmate's personal property.
The governor confirmed he had three mobile phones owned by Liam Lawlor. Summoned to produce these he did so, giving them to the registrar. Counsel for the tribunal sought an adjournment until Wednesday so that Lawlor's legal team could consider its options.
Mr Justice Flood said that the mobile phones were a Philips savvy dual band, a Panasonic and a Motorola timeport. He handed them back to the registrar to be kept in the tribunal's safe and not touched until further order.
Counsel for tribunal confirmed that no technical examination of the phones would take place before Wednesday, when the tribunal resumes.
Mr Justice Flood explained to Lawlor's legal team that the phones were simply being taken into custody.
