Beirut - A Lebanese military court began the trial yesterday of 29 alleged followers of the Saudi exile, Mr Osama bin Laden, on charges of planning attacks on US and Israeli targets in Jordan. The trial in Beirut coincides with one of 28 suspects in Jordan on similar charges.
The public trial of the 29 men, 18 of whom are at large, began in Beirut with the questioning of the 11 suspects in detention and confirmation of their identities.
