Boxing:Undefeated middleweight Andy Lee wasted no time in disposing of his oponent Clinton Bonds at the New Daisy Arena, Memphis, Tennessee, last night.
Limerick-born Lee, who off-loaded a barrage of punches to stop Bonds in the 1st round of the scheduled 8 round fight to take the charismatic young Irishman's record to 9:0.
Following the fight Lee commented ' I've trained hard for the fight, getting the best of sparring with Jermain Taylor and Kermit Cinteron. Competitive sparring has sharpen my game and helped get me focused at the job at hand. I am delighted to add another win to my record.'
Lee, who is currently based in the US, will be travelling to Austria next week to set up training camp with world heavyweight champion Waldimir Klitschko as he prepares for his title defence in Germany in July in a bout which includes the Limerick man on the undercard.
