Two goals from Harry Kewell put Leeds within four points of Premiership leaders Liverpool as David O'Leary's men edged Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Ewood Park this afternoon.
Kewell, who scored a brilliant solo goal in the UEFA Cup win over Grasshoppers in midweek, struck in the 55th and 62nd minutes to put Leeds 2-0 in front, both times after good work down the right wing by Irish full-back Gary Kelly.
Henning Berg pulled a goal back for Rovers with seven minutes remaining but it proved too little too late as Graeme Souness' side suffered their second successive home defeat.
In Sunday's other matches, second-placed Arsenal play Aston Villa at Highbury, bottom club Ipswich face Newcastle at Portman Road and Sunderland play Chelsea at the Stadium of Light.
