Robbie Keane completed his £11 million sterling transfer from Inter Milan to Leeds United today.
The Republic of Ireland striker has been on loan at Leeds since December after failing to make an impact in Italy following his £13 millionmove from Coventry last August.
Leeds will pay the fee over a period of three years after the 20-year-old agreed to sign a five-year deal.
"The funds are in place and are part of a three-year deal," United chairman Peter Ridsdale told the Yorkshire Post.
"The money for the transfer fee of £11 million has already been covered by guarantee.
"This means that we are not trying to sell players in the summer merely to find the money to pay for Robbie Keane because that deal is done and, with it being a foreign transfer, we can pay the balance over a three-and-a-half year period."
Keane has scored eight goals in 11 Premier League starts for Leeds.
