Leeds clung on to victory despite having Lee Bowyer and Danny Mills sent off in the last 12 minutes at Highbury as anarchy threatened to take over in the latest battle between North London and West Yorkshire's finest.

Referee Jeff Winter dished out 10 yellow cards, two of them apiece to Bowyer and Mills, in this latest bad-tempered struggle between the two sides.

It was difficult to have any sympathy with any of the players as football took a distinct second place to tribal feuding.

Leeds had already incurred four bookings for a variety of petty offences before Ian Harte's 29th-minute free-kick gave them the lead.

Sylvain Wiltord's flying header levelled matters three minutes later but Mark Viduka's strike, after he easily brushed off Tony Adams six minutes into the second half gave David O'Leary's team their first Premiership win at Highbury since 1994. -PA
