Racing:Officials at Leopardstown will keep a close eye on the weather as they decide whether to water the course again ahead of this weekend's Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes meeting.

The ground at the south Dublin venue is currently described as good to firm following watering over the last couple of days and general manager Tom Burke has not ruled out further irrigation later this week.

“Things are going very well for us and we’ve had dry weather for the last two weeks,” Burke said. “It looks like being a dry week again so we commenced watering here on Saturday.

“We started watering the outer track, where the Group One races will be run, on Monday and we’ll be watering the remainder of that track today. The ground is good to firm at the moment and we’ll take each day as it comes and decide what action to take.

“We possibly will have to water again. There is an indication that we might get some light rain on Saturday afternoon, but the exact timing of that is uncertain at the moment.”
