A Libyan accused of running up nearly £2,000 in bills at a hotel and a bar was released on bail yesterday. Mr Mohammed Ali Ibrahim (28), of The Courtyard, Rathfarnham Castle, Dublin, is accused of obtaining £1,300 credit by fraud at the Burlington hotel, Dublin, on August 26th, and £500 at Langton's, Kilkenny, on July 26th.

Det Garda Kevin Dolan told Dublin District Court the defendant had left Ireland in 1995 after failing to appear in court on two warrants and he asked for substantial independent bail. Another Libyan went bail for £2,000 and Mr Ibrahim was released after surrendering his passport, to appear again on September 10th.
