Mr Bob Quinn, one of Ireland's more adventurous directors of features and documentaries, has received a life achievement award at the Film Institute of Ireland awards ceremony at the Irish Film Centre, writes Michael Dwyer.
Mr Paddy O'Toole, whose company. Cine Electric, has a long tradition of supporting and supplying lighting equipment to the Irish film industry also received a life achievement award.
The keynote address for the evening was delivered by Lord Puttnam, the Oscar-winning producer of Chariots of Fire, and the producer of the Irishmade productions, Cal and War of the Buttons.
