March, 1999 Involved in an armed robbery in the city centre during which a 51-year-old security guard was knocked down and killed. Goes on trial but is not convicted

January, 2001 Three years for ramming Garda cars at 100 mph, causing criminal damage in Ashbourne, Co Meath

July, 2001 Three months for no insurance

October, 2001 Ten months for two separate offences of driving with no insurance

March, 2002 Six months for criminal damage

August, 2002 Three months' imprisonment for possession of knives

July, 2003 Victor Murphy, Finglas, found dead at Dunsink Lane. Gardaí believe he was being taken to be killed by Curran and an associate when the shotgun went off accidentally in a car the three were travelling in, wounding Murphy fatally in the head.

October, 2003 Peter Sheridan (27) is shot in the head in his native Finglas. Gardaí believe Curran thought Sheridan was going to pass information to them and killed him.

July, 2004 Went on trial for murder of Willie O'Regan after nine months in custody on remand. Trial collapsed and he walked free

October, 2004 Involved in a high-speed chase with gardaí near Dublin Airport. Rammed Garda cars and assaulted and threatened to kill gardaí on his arrest

November, 2004 Arrested during an armed raid on a bank at Sutton Cross, Dublin
