If you’re living in Limerick, or just passing through, you might want to invest in a Lotto ticket. Three big lottery wins have been recorded in the city in as many months – the latest a €468,877 prize in Tuesday’s EuroMillions draw.
The winner bought the €3 quick-pick in Gleeson’s Spar, Henry Street, on the same day as the Europe-wide draw. A jubilant Michael Gleeson erected a sign yesterday urging customers to check their tickets.
“I got a call at 8am from our Lotto rep to let us know we had sold the ticket. Out of the two winning tickets sold in Europe, we sold the only one in Ireland,” Mr Gleeson said.
In January, Chawkes garage in Castletroy, sold a €4 million ticket in the Irish Lotto.
In Newport, just over the border in Co Tipperary, a Limerick man bought a €4.8 million ticket. On March 6th, a Limerick mother-of-10 won nearly €900,000 in the EuroMillions draw.
