The mother of murder victim Shane Geoghegan has congratulated a Limerick man who has just become one of the youngest Irish people to climb Mount Everest.
Mark Quinn (27), Rhebogue, Limerick, reached the summit of Mount Everest at the weekend, and is hoping to raise €30,000 from his climb for a charity set up in memory of Shane Geoghegan. The Shane Geoghegan Trust, which offers young people in Limerick an alternative to a life of crime through various programmes, praised Mr Quinn’s heroic endeavour for this worthy cause. “On behalf of the trust, I would like to extend our congratulations to Mark and our sincere thanks to him for bringing Shane’s memories to the top of the world,” said Mary Geoghegan.
