Counsel for the State, Mr John O'Sullivan, requested an impact report on the injured party "which would be of assistance to the court when considering the question of sentencing".

He described the case as "a rather sensitive matter" and asked for the report to be made available as early as possible.

Mr David Goldberg SC, defending, said his client had recently suffered a stroke and had been discharged from the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick only yesterday. He requested a medical report from his client's physician.

Wray was remanded on continuing bail, and Judge Carroll Moran adjourned the case until January 11th. He agreed to a request from the prosecution to have Wray's name put on the register of sex offenders.
